Carrey Simons

My name is Carrey Simons and everything I do seems to start with either “I think I could do a better job of that” or “I reckon I could do that myself” (with the intention of saving money….) My introduction to the world of reborning started with a bit of both. I had seen beautiful babies around, and of course all the ones I adored were well out of my price range. The ones around the price I wanted to pay I felt I could attempt to create myself…. little did I know by the time I purchased kits, paints, filling, hair, tools etc I would be out of pocket by well over triple!! If I had have been told prior just how expensive a hobby it was, I may never have ventured into the reborn world…but Im glad I did – I would have missed out on so much!

I have always been very creative, and have come to be happy to admit it. I am also happy to admit I am a bit of a perfectionist, and can drive myself crazy trying to create or finish something up to my own standard. I never settle, and will re-do something over and over until I am happy (if only my housework got the same sort of attention!) I have been playing in the world of photography for years, and my weeks are now mixed with photo shoots of babies, both real and reborn, as well as amazing families of which I feel honored to photograph. Each day I feel so appreciative that I can do what I love, and have such a supportive family beside me through it all.

My babies are getting better with each attempt, and with each brave leap trying something new and risky! The feeling when I finish a baby is amazing, and seeing the joy from its new Mummy is even better. I hope to become as talented as those who have created babies that have taken my breath away… and knowing me, I wont stop until I do…. lets just hope for my sake it doesn’t take me 50 years!!
